Ditch The Pitch Connect With LinkedIn Prospects Authentically

December 6, 2023 - 1 minute read - LinkedIn, LinkedIn Content

“My prospects aren’t active on LinkedIn. Can I still reach them here?”

Sure can.

Yes, it’s easier to send a connection request after engaging with a post.

But, if they’re not posting content consistently, all hope is not lost.

You can still send a custom note, you just have to get a little creative.

Here are 5 ideas to try:

👀 Look at what they’ve commented on and use that as a segue.

👀 Look at their profile and find something unique to mention.

👀 Look them up on other social channels to see if you can find anything interesting.

👀 Look at what their company is posting and reference that.

👀 Look at any new announcements or new hires at their company.

Just because your prospect isn’t actively posting themselves, doesn’t mean you can’t get “in” somehow.

Sure, you need to put forth some effort, but it’s really not that hard.

Do a little research and watch your results increase.

What’s a common “in” you use when sending a connection request?

P.S. Once they accept, start a conversation without pitch slapping.
